This is my first attempt to combine 3D space and video. 2021.
A waiting space comprised of a 8' x 8' x 8' 'room:' carpet, an armchair, a TV tray, a TV stand and a 'TV'. The 'TV' is a found TV that I disassambled/reassembled with an embedded projector, mirrored panels, trims, to create the illusion of what one my imagine the inside of the TV looks like. A soft loop of found family footage and ads from the era flicker in the kaleidescope like interior of the TV.
'BLINK' is my first non-music related film, my first documentary, and the first film of mine to win any accolades/be selected for fests. In it, I explore the basic structure of Laban's 'movement sentences:' preparation, initiation, main action, follow through, transition, (repeat).
The subject is the simplicity of a single action--literally a blink of an eye--contrasted with the collage of sounds featuring paparazzi flashes and radio chatter--a meditation on mindfulness despite the state of things.
‘Joyce’ is my first attempt to put an interview on screen. Tthis direct to camera style is something I’m interested in exploring as part of this project. 2024.
*This piece was filmed in 2022, before I got a handle on sound recording*
Part of group show ‘show your shadow’ curate by Olivia Arrow. I’m interested in creating some textural pieces like this to sprinkle throughout. 2023.
An example of a 3D spacial installation combined with video.
A video store 'set' greets viewers in the front corner of a gallery. Plastic covers with imbedded films line the shelfs, and lead viewers to an interactive website where they can both watch and submit video/film work. This trailer is a collage of found footage, this is also a technique I hope to employ in creating 'Am I Dead?'
Like ‘Latchkey’ above, these are the types of spaces I’m interested in creating as part of my project. 2022.
